I would go for the 760 (not the reference one) just because it's newer and should give you a bit better specs :)

I would say the 760 since its got newer features like GPU boost 2.0 and shadowplay if he's interested in recording gameplay also it out performs the 660ti slightly and comes with a free game which near enough makes up for the difference in price.

I would get the 760 because, it will give a little bit better performance. But I wouldn't get the reference card, instead get either the Asus Direct CUII or the EVGA ACX they are both really good and keep your card nice and cool.

To help decide which 760 you like more.

so somthing like this one http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-geforce-gtx-760-1072mhz-2gb-pci-express-3-0-hdmi-superclocked-w--acx-cooler-8SWG.html?q=760&src=16

for £219.99

is the 760 worth the extra £50

I personally would spend the extra bit of money to buy the latest generation so, I do believe it is worth it and you can also over clock that card higher to perform closer to the GTX 770. And since the cooler on the EVGA ACX will keep the temperatures down then using GPU boost 2.0 will help it clock higher and give you an over all better game experience.

Personally i would go with a 7950 at that price range since you can get them for £20-£30 more since it has an extra gig of vram and when overclocked beats a 760 and also comes with crysis 3 and bioshock infinite but if your friend wants to record gameplay then shadowplay would be a nice feature of the 760 and also i guess it kind of depends if he would play any of the games that come with either of the cards, also is he in a hurry to get the new GPU or can he wait ?
