Alright so I realize to get program files onto an HDD I need to install them there, however even when I do select my HDD for programs to install on, the x86 files will still go to the SSD, which take up the majority of the room anyways. How can I make a x86 folder on my HDD? And can I install different things on different drives? Can I just change the location of the windows program files?

I'm just looking for an in depth guide to installing programs on a separate drive, because I've failed obviously. Somehow I did manage to change the user files' location flawlessly, so can I do that with windows program files?

Thanks.

Sorry if this was vague.

I really want to build an oil-immersed PC  ^_^

Hey Jeremykin,

Also to free up some space you can also move the pagefile to the HDD as well as clean your registry and enable TRIM. :)

Almost every software installer gives you choise to choose install location. I have Program Files and Program Files x86 folders both on SSD and HDD. I just change drive letter when selecting install location. Some rare softwares have bad installers that don't have any option for choosing location. Most notable being Chrome.
