New laptop storage solution.

Hey guys!  I need a new hdd or hybrid drive for my asus laptop g750 (or something like that I dont remember the name off the top of my head)  It has 2 hdd 2.5inch drive slots and an ssd slot as far as i know.

 

Specs:

i7 3630m

660m

8gb 1600mhz ram

1tb SLOW AS SHIT HARD DRIVE.

 

Any suggestions?

Just a suggestion, why not throw the 200 you would spend on a 1tb hybrid drive on a ssd?

My vote goes for a 1tb SSD, and an external 3tb for mass storage. Unless you really need to carry it all around with you.

A budget would be helpful. Really helpful.

Well the money would be around 150 USD.  I do carry this laptop arounda  good bit so external isent really an option.  An ssd might be my best bet but what one for the money?

you can give the wdblack2 a shot, no way the fastest but it's not terrible.

WD Black2 is a good idea as it combines a 120GB SSD with a 1TB HDD all on the same slot. Unlike hybrid drives, WD Black2 is actually a dual drive and each part is recognized separately and you have full control over what goes where. I am currently using it in my older laptop and even if it's a SATA 2 it still performs great. :)
