Thermal Throttling

Go to solution Solved by ApolloX75,

Yes i have changed to manual but dont understand how it exactly works i have a Gigabyte mobo with uefi bios

You could try a program like SpeedFan that will allow you to override fan settings within Windows.

At least that way you can specify a thermal limit and everything. It's not a 100% fix since there is obviously something disrupting your fan settings but it should work in the short term.

Have you tried updating your BIOS or manually changing the fan settings in the BIOS?

hmmm very very odd problem! not sure what would be causing that, but for a short term fix maybe get a molex to fan adapter and just run your cpu fan a 100% all the time?

That could work, but I think the BIOS might freak out at the absence of a physical connection on the CPU FAN header. A lot of boards actively look for it.

Sooo to appease the bios, maybe they can just plug one of their chassis fans into the cpu fan header

That would probably fake it out as long as the fan is a 3 pin, yes.
