I want to build a computer for my best friend and I want him to have the best experience. He wants to game on it. Just that. like...if a new game was to come out he wants to play it at good enough settings. resolution is 1080p. the motherboard and cpu combo is what I'm stuck on. Here are the 4 options.

8350+990FXA-UD3=350
G3258+Z97M-D3H=205
4160+H81M-S2PV=185
6350+970A-UD3P=250

the other components will be CS650(110), 260X(150) or 750ti(165) or 270(210) [opinions on the graphics card are welcome], WD Blue 500GB(55), cheapest 8gb kit of ram(70)

Please give reasoning (I am trying to get a relatively cheap system so....consider that)

I am a member of the PCMasterRace. I am terribly sad to announce that I own a PeasantStation 3 Super Slim. it's in a drawer away from my glorious PC.

Option 3, 4160 + H81 is the best out of the bunch. You could squeeze a little more and get an i5 4440 instead and be set for a couple years.

Reasons? FX series is good but Haswell is better. If you get an H81 and a simple i5 or i3 you'll be set for a couple years with no problems, plus a decent upgrade path. Even better if you get a Z97 board which would allow you to get a 4690k or 4790k down the road and overclock.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

i5 4460 is 213euros so..? what should I do?

Go with the 4160 for now, save up, plug in an i5 next year when prices (should) drop or you can get one used.

With just a ~260x/270 it probably won't matter much, but the i3 is by far the best value out of those options considering it's the cheapest and performs the best in games (on average).

Get the 270 if you can, unless a 270x/280 is just a few euro more.

RIP in pepperonis m8s
