Chipset

I think you're referring to the chipset. Can you give me an example of a motherboard?

It's all to do witht he chipset that the motherboard is based off. Z series is the mainstream Intel platform with overclocking capabilities, X is the extreme platform with the enthusiast grade CPUs designed really for content producers and high end severs, H is similar to Z, except it's not overclockable and has a couple of less features (I think M.2 is one) and P is quite an outdated chipset I think, but I honestly don't know much about it.

X is the enthusiast platform

Z is the mid range over clocking in platformplatform

H is the budget platform

interesting. Good to know that, hopefully Intel doesn't change that in the future.
