Kingston Hyper X Clouds odd issue

After a few weeks of use I've ran into an odd issue where if I have the microphone plugged in(and detected) the headphone quality goes to shit (worst than apple earbuds) sometimes the microphone quits being detected and then headphonequality goes back up as if it were a brand new pair... other headsets are working fine... I don't know what on earth could be causing this anyone have similar experiences?
