so I think you've got a few options

ram slot is bad

memory is possibly bad...

power supply problem

short circuit from case

highly unlikely..but could be cpu..or cpu slot

If you need remote help fixing something on your computer

I can help over Teamviewer if you wish

just msg me on my profile

Alrighty.

What do you mean by "External build"?..build it outside of the case on like a cardboard box or something non conductive

Oh, okay.

and yea...take the gpu outta the equation and just use onboard gpu for now

Will do.

you might wanna try some stress testing tools to maybe help narrow down the prob

memtest is fine ..but actually realworld stress testing I find works better

an idea here is that..if you run a memory stress test..and it crashes..then we can almost be sure its something to do with memory or memory slot..atleast then we can start to narrow it down

You mean my Sata cables I assume? Haven't done that. Do you really think 3 of my cables could be broken? :o

I've seen them fail after being kinked when run too tight in a case. I'm guilty of doing it myself.

You've definitely got an interesting issue. About the only thing you haven't swapped is the PSU. Normally without any overclocking I wouldn't look too closely at it but at this point...

I agree with @techguru an out-of-case assembly is a good idea to rule out a short in the case before jumping on to other possibles.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

I notice you said you didn't have any anti virus programs running in the background but is there any programs that may have came with the motherboards drivers cd. When i put my i7 in my Asus z97 board i had some weird issues and it was because ai suite had its own settings for just about everything that could cause issues. Anyways when i changed my settings my computer ran alot cooler and stopped making an annoying noise. I didn't have any crashes tho. Might wanna look at the programs that come with the motherboard and see if any are running in the background.

Case: Corsair 760T White PSU: Corsair AX1200i Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Formula CPU: I7-4790k Cooler: Stock Cooler Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2400mhz GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970

Already checked, I formated my computer and didn't install any of the motherboard programs, only the network lan thingie that's needed for the internet.

I just ran burnintest for about 15 minutes and this happened. Is my ram defect or wut?
