Hi, does anyone know how to transfer files from one computer to another with some kind of cable. I only want to transfer individual files (not settings or other things), if you have any ideas, please post below.

It needs to be a crossover cable. The procedure (for Windows) is here. Alternatively for better extensibility you might like to buy an #n port switch.

I'm the kind of person that would set up a FTP server on one computer and use a client to grab the files. It works great, just not the most ideal set up.

and for COmputer B Ip as  222. 222 . 222 .222

do you have an extra sata power cable & data cable?

If so you can have both drives in the same computer and drag and drop.

just transfer though the lan, that would be one of the quickest ways.

 

you just gotta set up network sharing

 

there are also usb transfer cables but I've never used them

He is not 100% wrong, It USED to need a Crossover cable but now all modern Ethernet ports have MDI-X (meaning they can swap the wires electronically)

you are literly plugging the 2 computers into each other physically

Using the methods above wont slow down your network, since its over LAN. It goes directly from computer "A" to computer B, you could even be offline if you wanted to.

it does but you will need to give both your computers new IP's so you are in the same network subnet.
