No video imput

Go to solution Solved by Elseano14,

Ok i say this is the thing i will do

1: remove the GPU entirely

2: clear CMOS again so that the system reset the BIOS to the iGPU

3: Connect the monitor to the mobo display output

Optional: Check all your power cables and make sure your RAM is fully seated into the DIMM slots

It worked! Thankyouankyouthankyou! Now to properly instal the drivers. I can't thank you enough for that!

Hello, I need some suggestions. I just built my computer, and it worked just fine. HOWEVER, myself being a complete idiot and what not, I thought that to get my GPU to work I had to disable processor graphics. Now, I've completely lost any video signal whatsoever, both in VGA and HDMI. Please tell me this is fixable, I just sunk 1100$ into this

Build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/smqFMp

I know the monitor works, I plugged in my laptop and I got the image just fine.

Please help!

Did you plug the monitor to the mobo? If you did, plug it into the GPU.

I've plugged my GPU in with a hdmi cable to the monitor, still no video imput

Have you tried to undo what you did? Honestly I'm not sure either.

Yarrr,

Dont wanna sound like an asshole or like someone who assumes you know nothing of PC's.

But like the person above I'm going to ask if you have put your monitor's cable in the back of your GPU. not that of the MOBO..

If it is so, and you still can't get a signal. See if there is anyway to reset the BIOS. Most Mobo's nowaday have a handy little button. (consult your mobo's manual if nessecary).

this should atleast re-enable the GPU in the cpu.

If this worked check in device manager. "right-click computer, properties, on the left side of the window click device manager, select monitor adapter"

It might say that your gpu is disabled and you should ofc enable it. (if drivers are not yet installed it might show a name different of R9 280)

If it does not show a second GPU. you should try to reseat your GPU either in the same slot or another one if your mobo has several (also make sure all power connectors are properly plugged in). and if that does not work. I'm sorry to say you got a dead one.

@LOLPhilips

@HeathCliff

I've attempted multiple times to reset CMOS, both by removing the battery and shorting the CMOS pins. Nada. Don't have a clue what's going on! It seems to work, like the lights turn on and everything, but no imput from either the motherboard or the GPU. I've tried every method under the sun to reset my bios, nothing.

Any idea? Or do I need professional help?

Can your monitor receive input from multiple sources ?? (like vga dvi and hdmi) if so see if there is a button on you monitor that can change the chosen input, and see if your monitor is not set on the wrong input.

I've tried shorting the CLR_CMOS pins as said in my booklet, and I've succeeded in making the fans turn off for a little bit, but no matter what I do I can't get it.

You tried choosing the different inputs with your monitor control buttons as I mentioned before ?

Ok i say this is the thing i will do

1: remove the GPU entirely

2: clear CMOS again so that the system reset the BIOS to the iGPU

3: Connect the monitor to the mobo display output

Optional: Check all your power cables and make sure your RAM is fully seated into the DIMM slots

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
