No. I guess I might have to contact some computer repair shop

If they are nice, they could let you test stuff. if they are not, they will charge you to test them

What Jambls said...

:(

only way foreward is to check all the components in another system or give up and cal it a day.

I know you don't have another system on hand, but do you have any friends that could help?

another suggestion is to completely rebuild the system. I've found that while installing a set of graphics cards for a friend of mine I knocked a cable loose and that was preventing the system from booting. Sometimes a simple "once-over" of the system will solve the most confusing problems.

Also don't hide it from your parents. Explain what happened and that way if you fix it without their intervention you'll probably gain some respect. You seem to know enough about computers where they won't be too sketched if you're poking around in your computer all day.

I removed GPU from system. And as soon as I plugged in fans started running automatically like last time but this time ran for a few seconds but turned off automatically again.

I am willing to pay. But I am afraid of hearing the blame from parents. They won't do anything but still blaming me for something makes me frustrated.

He doesn't need another graphics card to tell if the system is being halted by his current one, just uninstall it and see if the computer boots normally.

Does this silence from all of you mean I am screwed ? At least tell me which will most probably be the cause of issue. GPU, Mobo or something else ?

Without actually being there we can't accurately diagnose what is causing the issue. My suggestion is to rebuild the whole machine and make absolutely sure nothing was accidentally unplugged..

Do you have a modular power supply? Check those connections. I went an hour trying to install a second graphics card only to find out I didn't plug the PCI-E connector my friends power supply. Its the silly small stuff that gets you in PC building.

I don't think you did anything to "screw" yourself over, however there is a small chance you got extremely unlucky and something died during the process.

The power supply is non modular. The GPU is plugged properly. But even if something unplugged how can the system run for a few seconds and then turn off. And of course system turns on without even pressing power button. How can that happen ? Anyways will try plugging everything.

The system turns on as soon as you plug it in? No power button press at all?

Pull the connectors for the front panel (ie power switch, reset switch, etc) and then plug the system back in. See what it does. If it does nothing (as it should) then the problem is simply either you had the reset switch plugged in the wrong spot or the power switch plugged in wrong. Give it a go.

Yeah it turns on by itself. By the way I haven't even touched case connectors. So how can the problem be with them ? Also when system runs the power button led doesn't flash neither hard drive led flashes. No front switches work. Only way to turn off is to cut the power to the system

Okay that's a new one. You sure a loose screw didn't get trapped under the board? Try disconnecting them anyways, see what happens.

I am not home now. Will do as soon as I get back. During work a screw dropped on to the motherboard but it I took immediately and screwed it in to the new fan. I didn't open the right side side panel. So screw can't go to the back of the motherboard

At this point I think you're down to trying everything. Troubleshooting is just a long series of elimination. Pick an explanation and rule it out no matter how simple or far fetched.

I now strongly believe something died in the process and I believe its the motherboard. Gonna call a technician to make sure and I am going to RMA it. Wil post what happens. But I can't believe I damaged a motherboard while installing a fan. I have installed fans before, Installed thermal paste, does fable management, then why the heck it got screwed this time ? I want to know what happened so I can avoid it in the future. I dropped some sweat drops yesterday onto it but it has happended before. Now IDK what has happened. Anyways thanks for the help though. Thanks to all. Only God knows what's gonna happen.

Does anyone know how long an RMA process takes ? Is there a chance that both motherboard and GPU died ?

Now I reset CMOS and also powered down entirely by pressing power button and now the system powers on with all the fans and I can clearly hear 3 beep codes and before completing fourth beep the system turns off again. What does this mean ? Does this mean I can assume that the motherboard is no the cause of this issue ?

Reseat everything!

Anyways now the system does not turn on until I press power button once and the next time onwards it turns on itself when it gets power. But I did hold power button again after cutting power and the issue fixed but only till next time. After pressing power button again the process repeats. Don't know what is the root cause of all this. I don't think installing a fan can cause all this mess. The only thing I was concerned was I tried to remove GPU in the process at the first place and it popped out only a bit but having realised it was unwanted I pressed it down till the notch closed and tightened the screws. But then why these troubles ? I dropped some sweat drops but I have done it before when replacing Tim and so on. But this time what ? Maybe it's a completely different cause rather than my trying of fan placement ? I am worried to take it to PC shop. These shops here deal with low end stuff and also they will ridiculously spoil my hours worth cable management in this crap case. Please guys, help me. I tried making sure all cables were plugged. Switched RAM slots, removed and placed GPU again and even cleared cmos

Condition Beeps Code Debug Code

Normal 1 short beep after POST With goodnight LED enabled, debug code will disappear after the beep.

Bad CPU No beep No debug code

Bad memory No beep 45

Without memory 3 long beeps 53

Without CPU No beep(No Power) No debug code

Without VGA card 5 long beeps Beeps at”d6”, then show "0d"

That is direct from AsRock for their uefi BIOS beep codes. Pull all your ram out and start it up, see if it gives a full beep code.

My motherboard doesn't have provision to display debug codes. Without RAM system beeps. The issue is not with RAM I guess. Its the motherboard or the GPU or something else. I am thinking that why does it turn off before completing fourth beep ? To prevent some danger to components ?

If I arrange a GPU from somewhere will I be able to diagnose the issue further ? And if it boots the problem lies with GPU and if it doesn't the problem lies with motherboard ? Unscrew the bracket off of the card and put is in your computer without it. You should lay the computer down on its side and if you don't feel safe, ziptie it in place.

http://prntscr.com/6t63koRemove these screws and unplug the vga port unless you use it.
