Yes, it's a good computer.

Not sure if that cooler will fit in that case though.

dang that 980 is expensive. i got mine in January for like 616 USD and they're poseidons.

why is that so pricy?

 

that RAM is pricy too!

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

IMO it's worth it to spend some dough on a good MB. afterall, it might last longer than any other part if you shop right the first time. (upgrade GPU or CPU later, not MB.)

I America, I've heard that you can get WD Blues for around $40 - You might want to drop the $70 seagate HDD and go with something cheaper

yeah, with a budget this big i'd go DDR4 and the i7 5xxx CPUs. on an x99

+1 for sure. Then it won't have to be upgraded for at least quite a few years
