Spotify Ads cause FPS drop?

Hi,

 

Okay, i know this sounds weird. But lately i have been experiencing frame drops to 30FPS. I didn't know what it was untill now.

On my second monitor i have spotify open. And once an ad starts to play, any game i play at that moment drops to 20 - 30 fps.

When the ads are done, and the music starts playing... in that EXACT same moment the fps drop is gone. Coincidence?

 

I tested this with Guild Wars 2 , Cities Skylines, Battlefield 4 (with dx11, spotify doesnt update the frame when im using mantle) and skyrim. And all of these games have this problem.

 

i get 60 - 140 fps in all of those games on max setting.

Yes probably, your GPU and CPU is doing more on top of running your game, so yes it can cause an FPS drop.

Yep just go in the spotify map and search for the place where the files or links for ads are remove that and that will maby work

Not a coincidence but i see no way of getting rid of them unless you buy premium or stop having spotify open on that monitor.

turn off hardware acceleration, I bought Premium because I listen to alot of music.

Spotify webplayer + adblock( it works )

You could try Pandora with Adblock. Better IMO and uses less resources. I used to like Spotify but Pandora got a lot better. Maybe Adblock works for Spotify too?
