Workstation

I'm a Producer and I want to build a workstation. I wanted it to be very powerful and support 2 4k monitors in the future and be good for gaming as well. I don't know a lot about building computers so I thought this would be the right place to ask for help. These are the specs.

Specs:

Intel i7-5820K

Asus X99-S ATX Motherboard

Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4x 8GB) 2666MHz DDR4 Ram

WD 2 TB Hard Drive - Black

Samsung 500 GB 850 EVO Solid State Drive

Cooler Master SILENCIO 652S Case

Corsair RM750 750W Power Supply

Corsair Hydro Series H100i 240mm Liquid Cooler

Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Graphics Card

Corsair CO-9050006-WW Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition 120mm Low Noise High Pressure Fan Dual Pack x2

Asus VX24AH (2560 x 1440) x2

Please feel free to tell me to change anything! You guys know way more about this stuff then men :)

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

So... what work are you doing? You mentioned gaming.. and that's it.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Unless you're goin to add another 980 I would go with an r9 295x2, for that you'll need a bit more power on hour psu though.

and Music Production! I will be using Ableton Live 9 and Cubase 8.

I assure you, neither of those will be very intensive. If you want to get the best rig for those purposes, go with a z97 rig on a 4790k.

Ive heard that the strix isnt really good interms of performance, cooling and overclocking potential. You would be better off with a Gigabyte G1 or MSI GTX 980, or maybe the galax HOF if youre going for a white out build (Your mobo suggests so).

So would you suggest I change to the Asus Z97-PRO Motherboard Intel ATX Intel Socket 1150 and the i7 i7-4790K

Motherboard is irrelevant really. But Asus makes a few decent z97 boards, including the -PRO. That would be what I would do for that application.

I've got the 970 Strix, its really good.  I like how it runs silent until you start up a game, and even then it's pretty quiet.

I'll swap the 980 to the Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 970 G1

It still doesn't have the power delivery to overclock well.

Yeah maybe its more of an issue with the 980.  I've had no problems maxing out the OC sliders in afterburner.
