Starting Gaming Rig For a Friend

AzureKite

HI everyone, I'm helping a friend built his first gaming PC and we were wondering if we could get any suggestions on this build? Some info first, the only thing he has now is a monitor, Budget is a max of $600, must be from Newegg as that is our preferred shop, and we are located in the US. He's not looking to be playing games at Ultra settings at 4k or even 1080p, more like above 720p as we have weird OEM moniters we'll upgrade at tax season.

Nah he doesn't plan on any type of OC. If it comes to it, I have a spare CoolerMaster Hyper T4.

If he wants the SSD right now, skip the HDD and dump the money to the GPU for an r9 280 as it is better than the 270x, he can always add an HDD later, but he will have to deal with the smaller storage.
