Asus z97-A problems?

Go to solution Solved by Raudi_,

so i recently got a "open box" motherboard from newegg and put it in my computer with my old ram, only to have the red light above the "MemOK!" button to stay solid. I then checked the parts numbers for th ram and my old ram wasnt listed so i got the listed parts number for 1866 Gskill ram, and the red light is still solid and it wont boot up. im trying to figure out what im doing wrong as i need this computer for my work, this is only my second build so sorry in advance if im a bit dumb

Try only 1 stick of ram, and move it over a slot until the board will post. If it doesn't post you can try to clear CMOS.

Guessing you already tried holding that MemOK button till it resets?

Can you get into bios?

You might need to update the bios via flash.

just some troubleshooting. maybe someone else knows better, and exactly whats going on though.
