Upgrade Question

Go to solution Solved by Olithelombax,

I have the same gpu and i get the fps drops if i use a 2nd display so its probably the gpu :/

you can switch the 2nd monitor to be powered by the iGPU in your 4770K

you just need to go to the BIOS to enable the Integrated and set like 1GB for it

you may lose some RAM but it will give less stress to the GPU

Thank you all for the help.

So I have some questions that someone might find stupid but I'm fairly new to the computer enthusiast deal so go easy on me.

I am currently running a GTX 770 2gb and using two monitors. When playing in fulscreen on one monitor an waching a stream in fulscreen on the other i get some unwanted framerate drops, Is this my gpu not beeing strong enough? If so and because gta V is right around the corner, I'm thinking of getting an upgrade. I've been looking at the gtx 980, because i would like an NVIDIA card, but will it do the trick for gta? I've have hearing some talk about overheating and such, is this true or is it just when overclocking?

If this all checks out, I need a new card and the 980 is for me, will it fit in my system? I have a Msi z87-g45 gaming Socket-1150 motherboard and a Corsair CX 750W PSU.

If you need anything in order to help me I'll do my best to help you!

Any and all help is appreciated.
