Hey Guys,

I was wondering if you could help me as I want to build a computer that runs Adobe products, AutoCad and other programs really fluently and these are the parts that I was thinking of. Feel free to add or change any parts and to tell me what you think is good or what is bad, all feedback will be extremely helpful thank you.

Parts:

  • Intel i7 4790K
  • Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2, Asus Z97I-Plus Mobo (not sure how to choose a good motherboard, also wondering if you can use AI suite to overclock really easily?)
  • 16Gb Kingston Hyper X Fury 1600Mhz Ram
  • Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU Cooler
  • Fractal Design Define R4 Case
  • Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD
  • 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
  • Corsair RM650 PSU
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SSC ACX 2+ 2GB Gpu (should i get a better gpu??

That does seem to be a more gaming orientated build i have to say................... Maybe switch that GPU out for a quadro or a kepla if you plan to not game at all and only what you said??? Someone will spec you the perfect build if you tell them what you want and then give them a price! Maybe start a thread and ask for that???

they are freaking expensive and the software mainly uses CPU anyway. If you can grab a 5820k. And a 280x instead for that open cl goodness.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

I use illustrator daily. If i were you, id get eother a r9 290x

As for the rest, the sabertooth motherboard is great. And i would just swap the define r4 for a define r5

It also depends on what adobe profuct you will be using. Some are more cpu bound and some gpu.

Will quadro help a lot if i was planning on using just adobe/autocad like products? Aren't they more expensive and would the 960 be sufficient or not?
