Memory Frequency and Timin

Go to solution Solved by LegacyStijncat,

hey guys i want to buy a new ram and which is the more important ? the frequency or timing? in Gaming not rendering or any other thing

Adata XPG V2 1600 MHZ CL9 / Adata XPG V2 2400MHz CL 11 ?

Thanks :)

Latency (CL) is really important. Grab 9 for the best performance!

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

The current sweet spot is 1866 with CL9, only 1 game likes the faster memory and that is Battlefield from what I've noticed.

My understanding is that both are important (insofar as system RAM is ever important for a gamer) and it's best to have a balance. Given how easy it is to find affordable 1866 MHz CAS 9 kits, I don't think 1600 MHz at CAS 9 sounds like a particularly amazing kit.

You probably will not be able to notice memory latency in most games (unless the game is terribly CPU intensive), but yes, the sweet spot right now is 1600 - 1866MT/s at CL9
