Network Adapter problems

I have been using Intel's Ethernet Connection I354 network adapter for a month or so on my desktop but it sudenly started to give me problems such as not detecting an ethernet cable. I have NO experience with Windows desktops because i have always had a prebuilt laptop at my disposal. I would really apreciate some help because it is incredibly annoying, especially because i have no idea what to do. My motherboard is the Asrock H97M Pro4 fyi

maybe a driver update is needed, if that doen't solve it you should try to contact intel for support, maybe it's faulty

I have used a different driver a few months back and it also worked for about a month and then i switched to the one i have now, and now it starting to fail. I click update and use the drivers on my computer, but i dont know which one to use for my specific set up. PS how long would it take to get a response from intel?
