I'd say about 850w is good. you never want to have too little wattage if you ever decide to add/ upgrade in the future, it's better to spend a bit more up front vs having to replace it in the future. I'd suggest EVGA, Corsair, Seasonic and BeQuiet! for high quality power supplies.

I would recommend a Fully Modular PSU (less excess cabling) in the 650W-850W range from a reputable name brand like Corsair, EVGA, or SeaSonic.  I'd also recommend something that's 80+ Gold or Platinum certified - partly because of lower energy costs, partly because of lower heat and thus lower fan speeds and less noise.

Here's a link to a PCPartPicker search for those very criteria: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/#p=1&e=5,4&W=650,850&sort=a9&page=1&m=11,14,71

Any one of those should serve you well for many years.

Edit: More wattage means the possibility of more upgrades in the future without needing a new PSU, like if you wanted to add a third 970 eventually.

Anywhere from 650W-800W or even more. Having more is not going to let you down if you ever need a third 970. Also get 80+ Gold or Platinum because they are better and you get less heat from them.

There are various of brands that provide quality PSUs, and as such, you shouldn't limit yourself to just 1-3 of them. Otherwise, you may be missing out to some excellent units.

Anyways, a quality 650w can power that system.

For $79.99 after MIR, the XFX XTR 750w is a good unit to power that system: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1750bbefx

It's a Seasonic G unit internally, but offer full modularity, a switch to turn on/off semi-passive mode, and a FDB fan.

Or the high-end Delta build Antec HCP-750 Platinum for $101.98 after MIR : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371083
