Artifacts, crashing, amd artifacts

Hi so i have a pc with a hd 7850 1 gb of sapphire and a gigabyte mobo.

I got a new pc but wanted to use the old pc for media purpuses but it would,nt boot so before this the video card already showed artifacts so i tryed to bake it because with 2 year warranty expired you can always try so baked it nothing would boot so lots of testing later the motherboard bios has a error or something got a rma from gigabyte which was very nice and fast!
So started the pc with the repaired mobo it worked so got my linux drive in launched it everthing fine rebooted it another time and nope when i started my pc alreadt colored pixels all over the screen in the gigabyte logo and hard drive detection so then purple screen pretty normal for linux atleast ubuntu 14.04 btw but then my screen goes into sleep wakes up and black screen nothing and 20 seconds later my pc reboots i personlly think its the video card but wha t to do already baked it no warranty should i contact sapphire anyway ?
Or just give up hope or do you guys know a solution ?
Really want this pc to work

 

EDIT :I just tryed to boot the pc and it booted but it shows artifcat like vertical colored lines and flashes by and then when it happens rapidly my pc crashes and reboots but then i get black screen again

Hd 7850 1gb sapphire
4gb ddr3 1330mhz PNY
Phenom 2 965 black
Ga-78lmt-usb3
Linux ubuntu 14.04
430 watt power supply
Stock cooler temps are good cant notice any physical damage
Newest bios version idk which but the newest i know that

hmmmm. Nobody else has taken a shot at this so i'm going to suggest some things to try, no guarantee that it will work.

have you tried reinstalling / installing any other linux disro (eg elementary os, mint, fedora) (I don't think this will do anything but try it anyway)

are all the power cables plugged in to he card / mobo

different monitor connection

can you get in to the bios? and do the coloured pixels stay there?

did you bake the card at the right temperature/take the cooler off when you baked it?

Bake the card again, making sure you do it right.

 

hopefully that should get you started on troubleshooting.

Have you done everything I've said above? if you haven't baked your GPU yet then try this first.

try using onboard video (on your mobo) and if that doesn't work then it's not your GPU and if it does then the problem is your gpu. If the mobo doesn't have on board video then plug your GPU from your other system in and try it.

If that doesn't do anything reseat everything (power cables, ram even cpu but do that last, once you've done everything else and tried to boot as you need to re-apply termal paste) 

If reseating and onboard/different GPU doesn't work RMA your mobo again.

well just ran a benchmark with a old GT card and no artifacts so its the video card i just sended a support ticket to sapphire even do i dont have a warranty (probably) gigabyte even RMA it without any warranty gigabyte really did improve in the customer support over the last years but now let's hope for the best for the graphics card ;/

Gigabyte even RMA it without any warranty.   Gigabyte really did improve their customer support over the last couple of years but now let's hope for the best for the graphics card ;/.

Good luck! At least you know what the problem is now. Depending on what you want to use the PC for you could downgrade the graphics card to save a bit of money. If you can't get an RMA then you could try baking again as a last resort before you buy another card.

Hi so i got a reply but they need the documentation that i don't have and the guy that made it probably doesn't after 2 years so i give up but i found this 3D club HD 7850 1gb (second hand) for 50 euro's! (55 USD) he has all the connectors documentation the box and a pc where i can test it on when i pick it up so when i get there hopefully the cooler isn't broken or the card has artifacts so fingers crossed (going to use GPU-z, furmark, speedfan) also when i get the card i can try a crossfire with my sapphire broken one maybe it doenst work but maybe it does who knows right? so going to test that out but Thanks for all the help that you gave me and keep on helping people
