The Crew using 90% of CPU, causing performance issues

So as the title says, when i try playing The Crew, even after lowering the settings, the game still is using around 90% of my CPU, even hitting 100% on occasions. It's causing the game to stutter randomly and isn't smooth even at a perfect 60FPS.  Does anyone know a fix for this?

No idea, I know crew does go to 100% for couple of sec when u launch the game but never hear anybody struggling during play.

Ubi still hasn't fixed this...

How many friends do you have on UPlay? Allegedly, the game tries to load your friends even if they're offline and it causes huge amount of CPU usage in this never-ending loop. (GG Ubi)

You can use task manager to prioritize the game lower, so it won't have as much space as it now has.

i think i have like maybe 2 people, all my friends are on steam

i'll try that, it seems like whatever engine they are using just wants all the power it can get lol

just tried it, set it from normal to low in task manager and it only dropped maybe 10% usage at best, still spiking to 100% though, and performance didn't change

Ubisoft is REALLY (but REALLY) sensitive about piracy. They try to make the PC version only as good as - or worse - than the console versions. So it's probably the game's fault.

well, they should just have it check for uplay/steam connection occasionally instead of making a PC that is well above the recommended specs run at full load

Maybe ubisoft doesn't like overclocking.

Try running at stock GPu and CPU as well as just one of these just for that game. If it makes no difference then I'm out of ideas. Let me know how it went.

GPUs are stock, i'll try disabling turbo on my CPU with realtemp so it runs at stock and see what happens

just tried it, still hit 100%, don't know what's up with it, it didn't do this the last time i played it a couple months ago

Disabling turbo does reset your CPU to stock speeds ? I didn't know that.

sorry for the late reply, been a little busy, but yes, the way my OC is setup is i just changed the turbo clocks, not the stock clock, so by disabling turbo it also disables my overclock
