i5 4460 or 4690

Hi im planning to get a new i5 haswell cpu. My main use is only gaming.

I am not planning to do any overclocking thats why i am not getting an unlocked version.

My question is, will there be a a huge difference in gaming between the 4460 and the 4690? (Framerates maybe?)

Get whichever's cheaper, you won't notice the performance difference. If you don't have a motherboard yet, get the 4440 so you can save more money by getting an H81/B85, again with no loss in performance.

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

Phone: iPhone 6 Space Gray 64GB, T-Mobile $60/mo 3GB plan

Don't buy a 4690. A 4690k is only a tiny bit more expensive (it has more value and will have a much higher value over time as it is a beast overclocker even if you don't OC atm)

In your situation I would buy the 4460. It's cheaper and that money can go into a GPU that will have a more drastic impact on gaming.

System: Thinkpad T460
