Ping spiking

Connection speed: 50mbps

Router:  Netgear WNR1000v2

Users: mostly 2, maybe 3 at max

Even with such high speed i get spiking, it just started today. I asked my family members no one was downloading or uploading anything, they were lightly browsing. Then checked attached devices, no intruder showed up. What are some potential answer for the spike and how to solve it. Also is there any way of telling how much bandwith all the users on the router using. Also I'm using ethernet for net, rest of the devices are all wireless.
