If you are just programming and doing web design do you really need more than 1080p? Or am I just derping really hard right now and looking at a different monitor's specs?

The monitor is very good for both, but right now you can get an ips panel for around the same price (although a bit smaller), so you should probably get that instead: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/dell-monitor-p2715q

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Same question

So, assuming you plan to put that gtx 970 to work (which btw is somewhat underpowered to play the latest titles at full detail, although medium settings should run O.K.) the screen is good enough, although its not IPS and doesnt come with G or freesync, which would be obtainable qualities for a slightly higher price

I have this panel and it's not worth getting. I bought 2 and they both have issues. I would recommend taking a look at Acer's 4k monitors either with or without gsync.

I've had dead pixels, monitor won't turn on or wake up from sleep, and sometimes I would get weird vertical tearing down the middle. I've tried changing the cables and tried it on different computers and graphics cards, but no solution. I have the Acer XB280HK 4k gsync monitor and no issues whatsoever. There's also the Acer B286HK which is the same monitor but without gsync. I've seen the B286HK for as low as $549 and has a fully adjustable stand.
