What kind of games do you play? Exactly which title

That will determine if that Video card is sufficient enough

Integrated graphics might even be good enough for your uses

If you want a budget yet "good" gaming PC, I'd recommend going for an AMD 6300 or equivalent, then invest the majority of the budget into your GPU.

Come and join the awesome Official LTT Star Citizen Org at LTT Conglomerat,  GTA 5 LTT Crew at LTT Conglomarate

PC Specs - 4770k - OC 4.5GHz  - GTX 780 SC - 16GB HyperX - NZXT H440 White - Corsair H100i - Corsair AX750 - Samsung Evo 250GB - 2 x PA238Q - ATH-M50 -

Thanks for your help! e.g. battlefield 4.... doesn't have to be max settings. just to run smoothly. I also don't need a monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers (i have them already)

Keeping the i5 will be fine but upgrade the gpu maybe to a 960 or a 280x (280/280x would be better whichever you can afford)

too bad the GPU's are so expensive in AUS :(

I could afford the Gigabyte GTX 750. GV-N750OC-2GI

That would be better, just get the highest end card you can afford over there

Will do.. and as far as a motherboard goes? is the Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H a good option for its price category? Also when buying the GPU, do i make sure that the manufacture matches the motherboard manufacturer? e.g Gigabyte Motherboard i must buy a gigabyte gtx 750?

Sorry for the late response. Doesnt matter the brand. All gpus are compatible with most motherboards. That motherboard seems good, but if you want to save around $10 or more, get a smaller motherboard.
