I recently built my first computer and I am in the process of setting it up, but in the bios the default voltage for the cpu is 1.476 which I assume is incorrect. Can someone please help me with what to change in the bios.

With this voltage, I am getting a temp of 55 degrees while in the bios.

Yeah, that's A LOT of voltage.  I suggest lowering it manually through the overclocking page.

yes way to much. Where you see the number you should be able to delete it and put in 1.20 volts, just to be safe. Should be looking for v core voltage. You can go lower than 1.2, 1.35 is the highest most will recommend.

I havent changed anything, all the values are the defaults. I'm really confused with where the 1.4 is coming from

same here, change the value to 1.2, save f10 i think, it says on the bottom (scrolls across the bottom) restart, go into bios see if the v core changed to 1.2 volts.

I keep getting blue screens now with the code WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

chances are you need to up vcore to 1.2 volts or even 1.25, 1.1 is low for 4.4 oc to me. you may have not gotten as lucky as some. i don't have the same cpu as you, and never oc one, i do have the same bios though. i hope this tread helps more. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/107752-whea-uncorrectable-errors-with-my-4770k-wont-overclock-well-and-really-need-help/

Edit: just saw your post, once again awesome sauce.

One more question about the bios, how do you update it? there are two newer versions of the bios on the gigabyte site, but I have no clue how to update it.

you can flash it via a thumb drive i believe or the use the software that came with it. umm not sure if people recommend flashing the bios currently unless your having problems. someone smarter than me should really answer this. i have never had to do it. though about it but, i think have the most current version.
