I recently installed a new gtx 970 and started having an issue requiring the selection of a boot device. I had uninstalled the driver for my old card a gtx 760 before I put in the new one. With the 970 the boot device selection screen always comes up before the pc boots into win 7. Once I get it in windows everything appears stable and runs as normal with no crashes. Yet when I uninstall the drivers and put the 760 back in and reinstall the drivers no issues it just boots like normal?

My system specs are:

Core i5 2500 stock speed

Msi P67a-g43

8gb gskill ripjaws 1333

240 gb corsair force 3

1tb wd blue

Cooler Master silent pro m700

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What 970 do you have?

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

thats really weird, since to the bios they're both generic VGA controllers, and dont (shouldnt) change anything about the bootup configurations.

did you change out sata cables during the swap?

is there a chance something got damaged during the swap? (probbaly not since putting the original card back fixed the issue)
