Whats the Difference Between Cherry Switches

Hey guys, Im new to mechanical keyboards and I'm really really annoyed with my membrane keyboard so i want to try out a mechanical one out. I will be using it for gaming but i don't want to spend too much money on a new mechanical keyboard.

But im always open to suggestions!

I mainly want to know what the difference between Cherry Switches... Red, Brown, Black and Blue.

What do you think is the best for gaming? And what kind of cherry switches do you have?????

There is a great pack that WASD keyboards sells that includes samples of all the cherry MX switches for you to try, I've ordered mine just eagerly awaiting its arrival :)

Blacks are heavier reds, Browns are like Reds but with an extra bump (tactile), Blues are slightly heavier and have that extra clicky sound. You should try them all out at a shop if you can as I know there are people like me who like Browns and not Reds and there are people who don't like Browns at all.

Cheapest keyboard around my place is the Ducky Zero, followed by the Rosewill RK-9000 which I have.

For gaming, it's really anyone's preference. I don't mind playing with Blues but I think the sweet spot is Brown as it's not too soft like Red and has tactility. I own a Brown and Blue and used to have a Red but sold it away because I didn't quite like the linear sensation.

Hope that helps!
