This is my first time running crossfire. I have two ALMOST identical HD 7970 cards.

Both are asus, bot one of the cards is the matrix edition.

For some reason, when I run crossfire, the screen suddenly, at random times go grey and the computer freezes up.

If I only run the one card (the non matrix edition), everything is fine.

could it be because the reuglar 7970 has 2gb ram and the matrix card has 3gb?

Suggestions?

My sepcs:
i5-2500k

8Gb RAM

1000W PSU

Regular 7970's have 3Gb also. Make sure the cards are clocked at the same settings also

cooler master. 80 bronze

Providing the wattage and the exact model of the PSU would definitely help us to identify your problem.

I love free stuff.

GTX 970 with pseudo 4gb vram at pseudo 224gb/s at pseudo  256-bit with 56 ROPs (corrected from 64) and 1.75mb L2 cache (corrected from 2mb).
