BOMBARDED!

Go to solution Solved by blasterbros777,

There isnt much difference between the reference design from the different brands, other than the clock speeds. Thats the whole point of the reference design, its meant to be the same.

Just look for the cheapest version, as there is no point paying more for a slightly higher clock, that you can do yourself...

Thanks a lot ...people!!!

To pick between reference or non-reference designs, it all depends on how well you're able to manage the heat (which doesn't actually matter unless your case is super super small). So what case do you have?

Do you have a brand preference at all? Have you bought from MSI, EVGA or Asus before?

Alright, do you want to overclock in the future?

Do you want water block support so you can water cool in the future?

Do you have a certain size you need in your build?

Also a budget for said card.

Answer these 3 and I can narrow a card down for you.

You won't need to worry about getting a reference card then, unless you're planning on water cooling.

If you don't have a brand preference, I would highly recommend EVGA due to their excellent customer service that I can personally attest to. Oh and the cards are also great :)

If I were you and didn't want to overclock I'd get the EVGA GTX 980 FTW because for the money its the fastest 980 out of the box and is pretty quiet and looks very nice.

Guys which reference 980!!!

There isnt much difference between the reference design from the different brands, other than the clock speeds. Thats the whole point of the reference design, its meant to be the same.

Just look for the cheapest version, as there is no point paying more for a slightly higher clock, that you can do yourself...
