so my friend and i are going to build a computer in a few days, however he does not have a windows license yet.

 

a year ago i could just download a windows 7 iso from microsoft instal it and have a 30 day trail. but that does not work anymore.

do some of you have a windows 7 home premium iso for me or know where to download it.

 

(he will buy a windows licence in about a moth when he has money again....)

 

plz help me

(Not every god damn torrent is bad, this one, however comes with an activator which I don't recommend to use, but the actual ISO is fine)

windows server still has a free trial (you have to reinstall when you get a windows 8 license tho)

 

aside from looking horrid theres not much the desktop version can the server version cant.

 

EDIT: i'm fairly sure they dont do the trials anymore because back in the XP days i knew plenty of people that just reinstalled monthly.

i have an iso for ultimate if i instal that and activate it with a home premium code will it update itself to the home premium and stil work??

as far as i know you need to reinstall to switch between any windows flavour (except for the upgrades)

 

you need to install the flavour of windows you're gonna be activating.

you get 180 days trial with windows server 2012, this can let you bridge the gap

 

once you have money for a windows key, make a backup of all your data, and install windows 8.

 

OR: windows 10 preview is free, if you dont mind running a beta version of windows, with all the issues it brings.

 

EDIT: they have a 90-day evaluation for windows 8.1 (enterprise) on there as well.

i have 10TP running on my own gaming pc for about 4 mothns now never had an issue so i think ill do that

Just extract the .iso files to a flash drive and boot off it. Get your files from torrentz or something. You may want to just Google it if you need further help. Piracy is frowned upon by most on this site. Also Theres a way to skip activation during the installation of windows 8.
