Can anyone link me a generic dubstep song? My dad wants to know what dubstep is, and I need to show him just how awful out is.

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

I need to show him just how awful out is.

You're not going to get bad dubstep from me. That's like asking for bad jazz music to show someone jazz, that's misleading.

Here's some (IMO) good stuff:

varien op, I miss his days when he was "Halo Nova" had some great stuff

True, I like what he did back then and love what he does now. Favorite old song has to be Totally Radical or The Force, favorite newer song has to be Gunmetal Black or Whispers in the Mist.

Someone needs to link NoCopyrightSounds. Seems like NCS is going head to head with Monstercat now.

Definitely. Monstercat has some flavor to it but NCS is definitely catching up. Especially with Tobu under their wings. Tobu is just amazing with the Synths.

It sounds very different. We metalheads have been fighting the same uphill battle for close to 50 years now. In any case, I'm surprised that with the new rage about dubstep guys like Merzbow haven't become more popular:

I think it speaks for itself. Seriously all metal/punk kids eventually goes through an extreme period, in my case I started with crust and grindcore, goregrind, powerviolence and eventually just noise.

enough internet for today

You asked a very loaded question.

You basically said "Some one give me an example of shitty music so that I can show my dad how shitty it is." Naturally, you'll get what you asked for: shitty music. Your phrasing attracts people that hate dubstep. There's a lot of talent that goes into making any genre of music, just because you prefer one style doesn't mean that another one is awful. I hate country western music. Does that mean it's shitty? No. I just don't like it, but there is a lot of talent behind it.

Your opinion is your opinion.

Next time, ask for GOOD examples of dubstep, that way a new listener will know what is on the high-end of whatever genre you're out researching and will be able to create an informed opinion.
