OpenDNS=Bad!

I had OpenDNS installed on my internet and I noticed the internet kept getting slower and slower. I had to reset the modem about three times a day and things didn't load nicely. So I changed the DNS from the OpenDNS ones and my internet speeds jumped 2 mbp/s, browsing speeds are lightning fast, and ping in games has gone down about 30. This is some serious numbers that I cab really notice. So if you are using or looking to use OpenDNS please either change the DNS ports after installed or don't use it at all.

I use opendns all the time, and have clients using opendns for company web filtering. I have never had a problem with it. Also, opendns will do nothing to effect your ping times, or internet speed (though it may increase/decrease page load times while the dns server responds to your browser with the site's IP address, if your DNS server is really terrible).

 

DNS has nothing to do with much of what you're complaining about anyways.

1. OpenDNS is great

2. It wouldn't affect download speed or ping in games at all

instead showing 55.55.55.55 on your browser it resolve the domain name, so you go to DOMAIN.COM
