trying to use scheme completely stuck after 4 hour

so I'm trying to use scheme to use a github code apparently I need to use Gauche-0.9.4 (it's a scheme implementation if only I know what that mean) so I've installed everything opened MIT-GNU Scheme that open window that's titled Edwin:*Scheme* from what I know it's the text editor of sheme so I tried simple thing like typing >(+ 2 3) and I got no answer well in fact I can do anything I never get any answer. Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong and if someone know how to use gauche (or even what exactly it is) would be really appreciated.
