I just bought a I7 4790k and put it on my system and have overclocked it to 4.5 ghz. I am using a h80i cooler and getting temps for 40-45 degrees. Is this OK? I used artic silver 5 as my thermal paste. Also my temps bump up to the 55-60 degree range after stress testing for an hour. I have the cooler mounted in the rear of my case with the fans pulling air in and another fan at the top pulling air out. Any info will be great.

Yes, those temps are perfectly fine, as long as they are below 74c or so under load then there is nothing to worry about.

Perfectly Fine! You can worry after you reach 70oC+

If you're still worried, getting an AIO CPU Watercooler wont hurt, but it does hurt your wallet

OK thanks all. Another funny question could my temps be changing because of the thermal paste I chose? Because my temps are all ways changing on each core. I know they will not be a steady temp.

They will constantly change as each core does a few calculations for x y or z process, Mine fluctuate about 5c at idle (individual cores)

Once you load them all up it becomes higher but more stable as they are not cooling as much as load doesn't drop.

By few degrees max. As for fans, I'd flip then to other way. That probably won't do much for temps either but its more regular setting.
