is converting RCA to HDMI possible?

Does anyone know if its possible to convert the RCA output from my Wii to HDMI? what I want to do is convert RCA to HDMI so I can plug that into an HDMI splitter so I can run both my PC and my Wii on the same monitor. If its possible is there any way to do what I want for under 20 bucks CAD?

It is possible, but it requires a converter. It will add latency (sometimes unplayable latency) and usually is going to be in the $30-40 USD range. I thought the Wii had a HDMI cable option or something?

That's something I found on amazon just looking for it... But honestly I would pony up for something a little more mainstream so you can hope to get some better latency.

If I went straight from the wii to HDMI then to the switcher would I get less latency then if i were to go RCA to HDMI then to the switcher?

LOL sorry i was kind derping out there. i was trying to ask would i have less of a latency problem from using the thing you suggested (the thing that switches the Wii output to HDMI) vs converting RCA to hdmi

 

good ones will only give you 40ms latency dw about it

do you have any suggestions for "good ones" :D

I'm assuming by "RCA" you mean the composite cables that come with the Wii? Because there are/were better cables for the Wii. They might be hard to get a hold of but if you can find a VGA cable for the Wii you can just use that assuming your monitor has a VGA input. Alternatively you could get some component cables and then get a component to HDMI converter.

 

I'm just sceptical about how much luck you'll have converting up from sub-480p composite to HDMI.
