Hi guys,

First of all, although I think my English is okay, there might be some mistakes along the way because it's not my native language (Frenchie over here !).

That being said, this is my fisrt time posting on the forum, I hope I'll get a nice welcome =)

I'm fairly new to PC DIY building although I've tried to read and watch as much as possible on that topic in the last 2 weeks so I'd say I have an intermediate understanding of what's going on inside a tower. I did not want to buy a console so I thought I might be a better idea to build a PC. Which brings me to what I aim to do : play latest and oncoming video games (Dying light, Witcher 3, BF4 and so on) at ultra settings at 1080p and maybe 1440p. Really looking forward to playing Tom Clancy's The Division so I'd like to be ready =)

In terms of budget I'd say I'm willing to go around $1500, but of course anything lower would be great. I already have a monitor which works just fine. I'll need an OS I guess and since I know very little about keyboards & mouse and I intend to use my controller most of the time it isn't such a big deal for me.

Here is what I've come up with so far, feel free to tell me what's wrong/useless/unnecessary.

As far as the case goes, I want something low-key, with a window (I'm not really into those robot cases :S)

Thanks a lot in advance !

Add an aftermarket cooler (a good one) to OC and a better PSU (that one is outdated), everything else is great

Completely forgot about the CPU Cooler !

Do you think that overclocking will be useful in my case ? I do not intend to do end video rendering and only a fairly small amount of video editing.. A basic aftermarket CPU cooler should suffice I guess.

If I were to try to lower the price, which component should be changed ?

They're relatively cheap so theirs no major downside to going with aftermarket air cooling. Overclocking is always an upside anyway, if you feel its needed in a few months then try it and see if there's any performance buffs but if you can afford a kick ass build like this then you'll be fine

Been playing on a laptop for 6 years, I play Dota 2 with 10fps. Some might say this is impossible, I say its just annoying

Thanks for all the replies guys, I appreciate the help

I've had a look at other cases, to be honest I picked this one knowing it had everything needed. The NZXT S340 is cheaper and looks just as appealing to me. Any thoughts ?

Fair enough for the CPU cooler, you're all right considering that it's cheap and will probably be needed in the future.

I've updated the build and went from a 250gb SSD to a 120gb (since the OS will only take up to around 30Gb).

I believe going for GTX970 instead of a 980 is the best way to save some money. The benchmarks and reviews I've read so far led me to believe that the 970's performance (dispite the "Ramgate") would be more than enough.. What do you guys think?
