Note 4 Root

I just checked and saw that the Note 4 Verizon FINNALY HAS ROOT!!!!!  Does anybody know whether it is on Lollipop or Kitkat?  Also is the snappiness of Lollipop worth it over root privileges since the Note 4 for some odd reason lags?
