Why does the forum wait for facebook?

I notices in the corner of chrome it says waiting for linustechtips.com and stuff but at the end it says waiting for facebook.com and I was wondering why.

Because the site uses this bit of code that connect's to facebook for post sharing.

Facebook and Twitter can both be implemented and tie together status updates/Tweets.
