Notice:

I'm not worried, that I can't use the phone, just want to get some files back from it.

Anyways :

One day I wanted to turn it on just for fun (it was died already, btw), turned it on and hazaa, the screen works fine and dandy, yet after few hours it died again (and I forgot to back up my files (facepalm)). So after that day it has been turned off for about a week, screen still not working.

Is there a way to operate the screen trough usb or some sorts of black witchery?

Thanks!

This data you want to get back where is it stored? Is it stored on a removable SD Card or is it stored on internal SD Card? And Is some of this data contacts?

  • If the data is stored on a SD Card just take it out and get an adapter so you can hook it up to a computer.
  • If the data is stored on internal SD Card then your pretty much screwed unless somehow you manage to unlock the device once turned on.
  • If some of the data is contacts some SIM cards store contacts on the SIM so all you need to do is put the SIM in a new phone.

One more thing as it is android did you back up any data to cloud services because if it is log in to a new device and it should load the backups.

Hope this helps.

erm no, I knew everything you listed, but thanks still! And I did not upload anything to cloud (well, nothing worth saving)

Did you enable debugging mode on your device before this happened?

I remember back in my Android class, you can retrieve files since whenever you make apps, you can access the files of your android device via adb shell using linux commands.

You CAN operate the screen with a mouse...
IF you have a USB OTG Cable.

And some phones require Root.

You can get an OTG Cable for 3 bucks online, so i would put the phone somewhere safe and order that cable.
