ergodox keyboard

spwath

How expensive is it?

Is the 200$ massdrop one cheap?

Can it be had for less?

It is basically my dream keyboard, but it is expensive, I don't have enough money, and when I will, my parents won't let me get it

the one on there right now is a new variant and it seems interesting since it has a lot more things going on then the normal ergodox but i cant remember what the old one were doing for maybe @TheProfosist knows since he has a few of the parts kits sitting around

I think $200 is the going rate for the full kits but the one on massdrop right now takes less work to do unlike the old one and it has more features so it may be the way to go for someone that doesn't really know what they are doing when putting it together. You may be able to part one of the old ones together for less but there is a good chance it will really end up costing more then the kit if you get all the parts to make one separately.

if you want more people that may know about them you should check out https://geekhack.org/and http://deskthority.net/

OK.

It's rather pricy, so I'm not sure...

Right now I have a split mechanical keyboard, but it is from 1994..

Not sure if it's worth 200$ for a new one
