Hey guys!

So first off:

I'm in the progress of looking and making a build for my parents. Since there pc is about 7 to 8 years old, its time to upgrade!! Since I'm still living at home and they also still give me foods!! I think something like a new pc is a nice gift. It doesnt need to be over the top though  :P

The specs of the thing is something close to a gameboy..... Yes its that bad..

Its I think a pentium 4 or so with 2 or 4 gb of ram....

I have a budget of about 250-300 ish euros. I live in the Netherlands. I personally use German pcpartpicker to test the builds. Which is really close to Dutch prices.

And obviously we wont be doing any overclocking, so no need for z97 boards and aftermarket coolers. And if the cooling isnt good enough I have a CM EVO 212 laying abouts since I just upgraded my own ^^.

What does it need to do:

Well they wont need it for much, simple browsing and some photo editing. Note that the photo editing is really, and I mean really amateur. Like adding a name and so haha.

What do I have:

I have a matx case, so I wont be needing that.

I'm a member of dreamspark through school. So I also have an os.

We wont be needing any peripherals.

So I think this is all. Will be buying/building in about a weeks time.

Thanks folks! Appreciate any help!!

This I like. Though the ssd isnt really needed, and if they would like 1 they can always upgrade to that.

Cheers

the ssd will make them notice the major speed boost

a normal hdd probably won't

Ahh I agree with that. Tbh I cant even imagine a build without a ssd these days. But this time I'm on a tight budget.

I deffo cant get above €300. So thats why it can be upgraded later. Since I think its my moms bday soon.

Oh... my bad. I thought it was 300~350. Sorry.

You know what.... why don't you just add the SSD to your current build? You may be surprised with the results. And given that you'd be buying one sooner or later, I guess you can just do it now and have fun with the thing.

Check the build I posted, I added a WD Black drive which will be faster than the average HDD.

So its been nearly a week.. With the a couple of days off I really coulnt reply since I just got back from a visit to the UK. So I'm sorry  :P

The thing is a p4 isnt really from this year. And I think a new pc would work better. Just faster in general.

Buy yea I already bought the parts I need  :D. They should arrive either tomorow or the day after.

Once its done, I'll just let my brother buy the ssd as a present...

Thanks all!!
