Will PS4 benefit from DX12? Does the PS4 even use DX?

Snickerzz

So I'm seeing a lot about how DX12 will help xbone and help it get up to the PS4's power, but will the PS4 benefit? Or does it even use directX?

As far as I know, the PS4 uses a custom low-level rendering API developed specifically for the PS4 hardware. It may have an OpenGL-like wrapper layer but no DirectX.
