Recently bought an acer v nitro gaming laptop that comes with a gtx860m. I have noticed some problems while gaming with it. Dota 2 and Cs GO. Both games run at good framerates but every 30seconds or so, the framerate will drop from a healthy 90-100 to around 20-30 and stutter for a good 4-5 seconds then returns to normal. What seems to be the issue?

Things i have tried.

-deleted most of the bloatware that came with the machine. Except for dobly digital audio.

-nvidia card is set as defult and manually set it to run my games.

-power mode set to high performance in both intel card and nvidia.

-tried multiple drivers including old and latest ones.

-vsync of and on.

-temperature check reveals that the temps are normal. No overheat.

-cpu speed seems normal at around 3.3ghz

-multiple restarts.

Try going into the BIOS and outright disabling the Intel GPU so you are always on the 860m, then see what your FPS is.

i dont think i can do that. Because in laptops the intel gpu is actually the one that is connected to the mainboard itself . The nvidia card just acts as a secondary. So if i disable the intel one i wont be able to use my nvidia one too. And besides. Im 110%sure im using the nvidia one and not the intel one when im gaming.
