So I just finished playing Black Flag and was wondering whether or not I should play Unity first. I got the game for free when I bought the GTX 970 but heard it was unplayable at the time of launch. I was wondering if it is playable now? If not I think I will start playing Rogue which I hear is pretty well optimized.

Rogue is a good game, and runs perfectly. Unity on the other hand is terrible in my opinion i have bought it and have not finished the first few missions on it.

How were your fps? Assuming you're playing at 1080p.

Unity is a good game with a bit framedrops sometimes. But still a good game

Would you say it's playable now?

yes i think. i dont really see the "over complained" problem that people were talking about.

im playing on 1920x1200, everything on max, FXAA, with a single GTX 780. it runs around 45-60 FPS, mostly on 50-55 and its completely playable for me. i dont know why everyone blaming ubisoft so hard because of this game. the graph is good, environment is also good, gameplay is good.

yes i agree that sometimes u'll have some framedrops. especially if u're jumping from roof to a very very crowd place. but it doesnt happen everytime.

im not an ascreed or ubisoft fanboy. but i suggest, go try it yourself. u'll get the idea.

I gave it a try. There was so much tearing even with vsync forced on using Nvidia Inspector. Also after fiddling around with Nvidia Inspector, the game doesn't even start now. It crashes as soon as I hit play on Uplay. Sigh.

Play unity first, Rogue runs well but the game is really short for an Assassin's creed, you only have 6 sequences and the sides activities aren't very interesting (you don't have that much either). Still the story is pretty good

Mine is fine. Tearing isn't that bad with my PC setup. What GPU and monitor are u using?

Hhhmmm.. That's strange. My PC setup is simply lower than yours and our monitor have the same response time.

Seems to happen whenever all 4 cpu cores hit 100% usage. Super lame.

If the games not loading up pass the splash screen and not to the game intro then check that Geforce Experience resolution is the same as your montors, for me it would change it after each Geforce game update

Thanks, I figured it out. It had something to do with overlay64.dll. I just deleted and it started working agian. Unfortunately, the way the game runs is another story lol.

Rogue's ending kicks off Unity. Play Rogue first.

Good point, I think I will do that seeing as Unity is not running very well.

How about the graph setup?

I'm assuming you mean graphics? It usually sits around 100% until the CPU hits 100%. Then the GPU will decrease to about 60% for some reason while CPU remains at 100%. I think I'm going to play Rogue first and hope that Ubisoft fixes up Unity. From what I've seen, it's got potential but the performance issue makes it hard to play. It's unfortunate because I've been looking forward to Unity well before launch.

Why?

It's optimized like crap. It's in pre-alpha stage. I've also heard it's a pretty bad game as well, at least compared to others in the same franchise. And buying it tells ubisoft that rushing out an obviously unfinished game at full price with day one dlc and in-game microtransactions is ok.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Rogue is actually optimized much better than Unity.

I never liked any of the Assassin's Creed games so I wouldn't know.

Nope.. I mean your graph option in game. Especially anti aliasing. Put it on FXAA.

Max graphics at 1080p, FXAA, no motion blur. Plays like poop.

Already started playing Rogue. I can play at 1440p max settings and get 60fps in Rogue, which is interesting.

How many FPS do u get with that setting on 1080?

Mine is around 50 on 1920x1200.

Somtimes, it drops to 45-45 but not that often.
