Are there certain audio and LAN chipsets that I should look for when shopping for a motherboard? Or conversely, are there chipsets that I should avoid? I'm not going to base my entire decision on these components, obviously. Rather, I hope this will help me decide between boards that meet my needs.

I've read that Realtek ALC1150 and Intel LAN (any chipset?) are good.

I plan to use the HyperX Cloud/Cloud II headset if this matters. I might get a higher-end pair of headphones in the distant future.

EDIT: Keep in mind that I'm interested in a Z97 board under 160 CAD.

I forgot to mention that I'm looking at budget Z97 boards (<160 CAD) so audiophile components might be too much.

Realtek chipsets perform quite decently

i wont worry too much about them giving problems

Is there a perceivable difference between ALC1150, ALC898, and ALC892?
