Hello community,

For the past couple of months I've been putting off buying a backplate for my EVGA GTX 760 graphics card.  Now my card is starting to sag a bit in the corner and decided to finally go through with it and spend the $20 it cost from EVGA's website.  Unfortunately it seems they don't sell it anymore and cant find the backplate anywhere for sell online.  The only thing that I have been able to find is an Alphacool 760 backplate on websites such as Performance-PCs and Aquatuning.  So my question is, would the backplate still work if I keep the ACX cooler on the card?  AS far as I know, the PCB on this card is a reference design so I wouldn't imagine there would be compatibility issues.

Additionally, if someone knows where I can still find these EVGA backplates, I would greatly appreciate it as I do like the aesthetics of that one more than the Alphacool backplate.

Thanks in advance for your help.

According to the EVGA and Performance-pcs website, they in fact do.  The backplate adds rigidity and reinforces the pcb to help fight sag.  Unless I'm mistaken, a company cannot claim false features as this is false advertising.

It's not false advertising, it does reinforce it and fight sag, but that does not mean it completely removes it.

You can look at pictures of GPUs with backplates and they will still sag. A thin piece of metal is not going to completely remove sag. You need to use something to hold up the back end of the GPU.

If it helps at all, I'm still interested in this product.  Which brings me back to my original question, is there any problem installing this on a card that isn't watercooled?

No, the mounting holes should still be the same as long as the backplate is compatible with your model of GPU
