making a psu cover?

so i was thinking of modding in a psu cover for my r4, similar to what is on the entho pro, h440, s340, ect.

 

What would be the best material to try this with, i really wanna hide some cables and make my rig look clean.

Just go and find some decent steel at any hardware store and spray paint it whatever color you want.

I would suggest .050 or .063 aluminum or 20 gauge mild steel. Let me know if you need additional info.

Heat I presume, that's usually how you bend hard material anyway.

i dont know if i would be capable of heating steel to a temperature hot enough to bent it, then if i even could bend it.

You do not need to heat up sheet metal to bend, just get a simple bending brake or bend it on a flat edge.

I assume they would have someone that could do that for you if you don't want to your self.

I went to a local plastics shop, took them the measurements & told them exactly what I wanted & where I wanted bends ect.

They did it in a day & was about £10 total, if you look in my gallery you should be able to see before & after pics

I personally suggest using aluminum if you don't have a bench brake to bend steel since it's a much more softer metal, you can do it easily the DIY way with a 90 degree piece of metal or 2x4 clamped to a table and bend it over the workbench and evening out any unevenness. Another option is using acrylic but you will need to heat that up using a heat gun until it becomes soft to slowly bend it.
